Not even this picture can cheer me up

Why do I keep falling for this shit?
A couple 3-2 wins and everyone (including me, I admit) starts going "We're only 4 1/2 games back! We're gonna do it again, just like last year! Here we come!"

Uhh, no.
The Twins pitching is good. Maybe even great.
Their offense blows dog.
This team can't make the playoffs. Not with a Texas-League lineup.

71 runs since the All-Star break, which is 14 fewer than any other team.
Just because the Twins have two elite offensive players (Justin Morneau and Torii Hunter) and two good ones (Michael Cuddyer and Joe Mauer) doesn't mean they can score runs consistently. Especially since those four are all slumping now anyway.

The rest of the lineup is poop. Runny, smelly poop.

One new bat isn't gonna do it. I am actually starting to think not making a deal was the right move. It probably would've been a waste.

It's '05 all over again. They're gonna finish 84-78. If they keep pitching.

On a brighter note, Nick Punto actually hit a single last night raising his batting average to .209.

Punto had a single, and then actually got robbed on a line drive, repeat, line drive hit to second that the Cleveland second baseman made a nice play on.

Paul Byrd and his 75 mph heater owns the Twins. Silva looked good, except for that rocket hit by Hafner that just about knocked down the right field wall.

Do you know what would be a big offensive improvement from what the Twins currently have? Ty Wigginton at 3b and Luis Castillo at 2b.

That's like saying the Twins would be a playoff team if Terry Ryan had balls. Too bad he doesn't, so they're not.

Garrrrr if being a land lubber ain't bad enough for me old bones, I be a Twins fan too. Me unpatched eye be seein' that weeee little Tyner be having a better sluggin' percentage than Mauer and yeee Tori Hunter since the break of the stars. Arrrrgh, she be a sad day to be dry plum out of rum.

On the Twins website, they always have video clips from the prior days game. Yesterdays clips are that of, 1) Casilla turning a double play, 2)Bartlett's strong throw from short, and 3)the power going out. Isn't it funny they have to resort to basic normal plays for review because they have absolutely no offense? If Morneau doesn't play last night, they get no-hit.

Bannister had great stuff last night. It's hard to hit a guy when he's throwing that well. Funny how all these pitchers seem to be "on" when facing us. I guess we're just running in to some bad luck.

But at least your guys battled their tails off, right Ron?

Has anyone seen my balls? I've been missing them for some time.

Terry, they are probably where they are supposed to be. You just can't see them because your head is up your ass.

why is the twins offense so fucking random? one game they score 11 runs, the next 3 games they score 2 total and get shutout. fuck u terry ryan, its ur fault, ur the reason. we have the worst bottom of the lineup and bench in the major leagues. Stars like Punto, rondell white, up and down jason kubel, tyner, lew ford, thats somethin to be proud of

It's because Odalis Perez sucks and has been getting nailed more than Lindsay Lohan this season. Ryan Braun ain't much better. The Twinkies had a chip on their shoulder after being shut down by pitchers like Brian Bannister and Paul Byrd. Somebody had to pay.

Just a sidenote, I sat behind a Twins fan at the game tonight who kept urging Jason Tyner to "hit one out of the park." Each at bat. I hope you guys that read this blog are smarter than that.

Zss, Tyner has power. Perhaps you haven't noticed, but this year, he even has more homerun(s) than Rondell White!
I hope the Twins don't let him go. If they do, I see him being the next David Ortiz.

Garrrrza be throwing today. Eye, I be suprised if the Twins be losing on this day.

The Royal's staff had great stuff today. It's hard to hit when they're throwing that well. The guys did all they could. They battled their tails off.

Fuck you Ron

See what did i say? They score 11 runs one night and get blanked the next. Go fucking figure. They can pitch all they want and give up one run every game the rest of the year and as much as we get shutout we'd be awfully lucky to make the playoffs

You've got to tip your hat to a case of Bud and a bucket of KFC.

They're in the backseat of my 'stang.

Who's comin' with me?

Seriously.

I need a driver.

Oh Ron, you know I can't resist you when you're balls deep in chicken.
